Battle of the Biotech Bands, an annual Boston event featuring a competition of bands from the biotech industry all competing to win prize money for the charity of their choice. With support from corporate sponsors and ticket sales, the September 2017 event brought in over $108,000, with all funds split among each performing band for their charity. This year, Led Zymmelin from Sanofi Genzyme took home the win! On Dec 1st, a check for $54,132 was presented to their chosen charity partner, the National Organization for Rare Disorders, in a ceremony hosted by Sanofi Genzyme in their Cambridge headquarters.
For a third year in a row, TotalOffice’s Carly Bassett hosted the event along with Sylvia Beaulieu. Already preparing for its 5th year, this annual event brings together the life-science, architecture, construction and associated communities for an evening unlike any other. This year, the BoBB was a signature event as a part of Biotech Week Boston, a week-long festival of biotechnology that brings together people, ideas, science and advances in patient health.
Other competing bands: Aural Gavage representing Momenta Pharmaceuticals; LifeSize representing GE Healthcare; and Semi Good Lookin’ representing Blueprint Medicines, Aquinnah Pharma & Harmonic Lab Solutions.
